Dangers of Xylitol and Your Dog

Off Road Paws wants to help you keep your dogs safe, active and healthy! We always want to give our dogs treats to show them how much we adore them, but it is surprising how many human foods/treats are actually dangerous for dogs.  Recently there has been more publicity about the sugar substitute, Xylitol, and how toxic it is for dogs.  Most commonly this is found in gum, but it can also be found chocolate products and even peanut butter! Below is an article about Xylitol toxicity and what to do if your dog ingests it. Additionally, the second link includes of list of Xylitol-containing foods and products, but it is not necessarily complete. If you are worried your dog might have been eaten something with Xylitol, contact your veterinarian IMMEDIATELY!
